Tours and Workshops

Todd and Suzy are very busy, especially, during the summer months and will try their best to accommodate all requests but will not always be able to schedule a workshop last minute. If you are interested in scheduling a workshop, please contact Todd and Suzy, by phone or email, as early as possible. Some workshops are available all year round.

Private Sourdough Bread Baking Workshops (Offered all year round)

Suzy offers private sourdough bread making workshops.  In the workshop, you will have the opportunity to make your own sourdough bread which includes, mixing up your own dough, shaping your dough, learning the baking process involved in baking the perfect sourdough loaf and how to take care of a starter.  You will also take some dough back to your cabin to bake a second loaf the following morning.  You will be able to take home some of Suzy’s sourdough starter so that you can make your own loaves at home.  Also, you will receive an easy to make sourdough recipe and Suzy’s lifelong support with your baking.  Suzy needs, at least, 48 hours notice to prepare for a workshop.  Please contact Suzy way ahead of time if you are interested in scheduling a workshop.

Price for workshop: $150 for up to 2 people, $75 for each additional person (up to 4 people in total can attend the workshop). Workshops last about 2.5 hours.

Cancellations within 24 hours of the workshop will result in a $150 charge.

Cheesemaking Workshops

Cheesemaker for a Day (Cheesemaking Demonstration - Available on Mondays and Thursdays from May-September)

Are you curious about the process of making cheese? Have you ever wondered how thousands of cheeses are made all over the world using the same ingredients but they all taste different? Spend the day shadowing a cheesemaker while they make cheese using the milk from that morning’s milking. Observe the process of liquid milk transforming into a solid, learn the seven basic steps for making cheese, get a peek into our cheese cave, walk away with a basic cheesemaking recipe for you to try at home. We’ll answer all your cheese questions (to the best of our ability), during your day with us. Please note that this is more of a demonstration than a hands-on cheesemaking workshop. The cheesemaking process lasts about 3-4 hours. You are welcome to stay for the whole process or stay for as long as you wish. Limit of 2 people per cheesemaking session. Please contact Suzy and Todd, in advance, if you are interested in participating.

Price: $100 for one person. $175 for two people. Must be 12 years of age or older to participate.

Hands-on Cheesemaking Workshop - An Introduction to Making Fresh Cheese or Aged Cheese (Available all year round)

Our cheesemaking workshops will provide you with the important skills needed to make delicious cheese in your very own kitchen.  During the workshop, you will learn about the different types of milk, equipment needed for making cheese, and how to make your very own cheese.  The workshops are very hands-on.  Depending on the workshop, you may have the opportunity to make a fresh cheese such as Halloumi, Feta, or Ricotta (Anari), or an aged cheese such as Gouda or a Manchego style cheese. You will gain valuable knowledge about how to make delicious, homemade cheese, as well as, recipes on how to use your homemade cheese. At the moment, we are scheduling private workshops. If you have a group of 1-6 people and would like to schedule a workshop, please email or call.
